Pretty is on Shelves Today- and a Giveaway!

My novel, Pretty, comes out today. You can read an excerpt at the Penguin website.

People have already been telling me they’re getting their copies in the mail. I’m relieved and anxious at the same time, and looking forward to a crazy fall. T is coming with me for most of the book tour, so expect mayhem.

I’m going to giveaway a signed copy to celebrate the release. Just leave a comment here telling me what is the prettiest thing about you. Not limited to outsides, of course. I’ll choose a name at random next Friday, September 9.

I’m still adding tour dates to the website, so keep checking back. The launch party is going to be in Los Angeles at Book Soup on September 7 at 7PM. I’m thrilled that the immensely talented Ricky Berger is going to come do a few songs. Here’s a little teaser:

  1. I can’t wait to read this book! I am pretty b/c of a lot of things, but prettiest now as I hold life in my womb.

    Lots of love Jillian, I read Some Girls last year and was moved and captivated by your story. I hope that T is a good little press tour guy!!!:)

  2. I was adopted at three days old and I never ever looked like anyone but me. Now at age forty six I can look at my seven little clones. I made babies with different dads and all my babies look like me. The prettiest thing about me are my seven beautiful stars that shine brightly all around me.
    If you wanted to speak in Jerusalem I could set up a gig. I know a bunch of Jewish ladies who love you. {my four guys are big jackass fans}

  3. Outside, I would say my eyes (they change from blue to green to blue/gray). On the inside, I would say my inquisitive nature because I was made fun of from elementary school through the first half of high school because of my interest in particular subjects (mostly English and History).

  4. The prettiest thing about me is that I’m happy with who I am on the outside and my geeky inside, and I have someone else who loves both.

  5. I’m going to stick with the outside, because I love my crater-deep dimple on my left cheek. It encourages me to smile! Would love to win your book, loved reading Some Girls!
